For all the new Holiday Pet Owners......
please keep in mind some of the important things you'll need to do with your new pet!

Please remember that if you've received a new pet for Christmas that we are here to help you with all of your new pet needs!

It is imperative that new puppies and kittens follow through on their vaccines! If your new pet is current on vaccines then a thorough exam is recommended so that we can discuss current care, future care and to make sure that your new pet is thriving and healthy!

For dogs we recommend Core Vaccines, Heartworm testing and Preventative and a stool check to make sure that your pet does not have intestinal parasites. Some intestinal parasites have "zoonotic" potential. That means that they can be passed from pet to person.

For cats we also recommend Core Vaccines as well as testing for Feline Leukemia and Fiv (Feline immunodeficiency virus) to make sure that your cat or kitten does not have one of these viruses which can easily be passed to other cats in the household. Before introducing any new cat or kitten to a house with other feline members this test is highly recommended! Otherwise your current cats could be at risk of transmission.

If you need more information about spaying or neutering your new pet we'd be happy to review your pet's needs and requirements.

Lastly but certainly not least, if your new pet is NOT microchipped please get this done as soon as you can! We have countless numbers of good Samaritans that find "stray" animals in San Tan Valley who bring them in to us so that we can scan them to see if they have a microchip. Happy stories when they do! We are able to contact the owner and let them know their beloved pet was found and is safe in our care!
